So I asked myself what's the worst thing that can happen and that would be to loose my little community - you folks keep me sane and functioning. Given how a few people I cherish went DW only, I will be cross-posting, I think. And keep an independent archive of my LJ to keep all the comments. Filters etc. will be set up once I have a bit more breathing room and am not in meetings 12 hours out of 24 and jet-lagged.

Hey, just wanted to say hello over here (and test whether my openid works on DW). But I take it you still prefer comments on LJ. Hm, would be great if cross-posting work for comments, too.

Poor you, will only have ca. four hours of meetings tomorrow, which will be enough to get my head spinning.

Yes, crossposting for comments would be the best - the conversations in the comments are even more important than the entries to me *sighs* And I think I'm fine with comments in both places. It's not an ideal solution but the only viable one if I do not want to lose any of my people.

I feel with you! After my few crazy day I ended up, unsurprisingly, totally drained. But well - at least we have weekend now?

Ich hab auch schon überlegt, hierher umzuziehen, das rutscht da ins Bodenlose bei LJ. Hier bei Dreamwidth gibt's zwar quasi keine Veränderungen in all den Jahren, aber das hat ja auch was Gutes.
Wenn ich aus J zurück bin, backuppe ich mal LJ und dann stell ich wahrscheinlich auch auf crossposten um.

Ich will nicht voll umziehen, aber ich will einige der Leute, die jetzt DW-only sind auch nicht missen. Also muss eben die jetzige Lösung dafür herhalten :( Dabei mag ich Veränderungen so rein überhaupt nicht *grummel*

The jetlag behaved rather well - it actually was almost useful because it allowed me to squeeze a really important phonecall in on Tuesday at 6 AM, a time when otherwise there is no chance to have any kind of sensible conversation with me XD

<3 I have a big one and I just don't want to miss anybody from it - so many of the people grew to be close friends over the years, both the ones I met in RL and the ones I did not.

Hello from this side!

I'm in the same boat- there's enough people who've upped and left now that if I'd be inclined to keep in touch, I can't not move? And I suspect that LJ won't survive the next year or two, so it wouldn't be a bad move. But there's also people who're staying on LJ still, so there's no real win.

On the other hand, there was a post I saw a while back about redirecting LJ comments to DW? I don't know how it works quite yet, and I'd have to dig it up but it'd be useful for keeping the archive.

I know there is a way to import them on the old post - I am not sure it works on cross-posted ones? If you know more, I'd be super thankful to get more info.

Still trying to figure out what to do with the moodtheme. I really want my custom one but DW does not come with any kind of image hosting capabilities *sighs*
